A very faithful replica of a small disc fibula in Viking Age - Borre style. The original piece it was modeled on was found in theSwedish town of Birka and can nowadays be admired at the Swedish National Museum.
This cloak brooch/clasp does not only feature a sturdy pin for proper fastening to your garment, but also a small lug enabling youto wear it as a pendant.
It is available in bronze or silver-plated.
The Borre style
... superseded the Oseberg style in the course of the 9th century and prevailed until the middle of the10th century. The early medieval Borre style, also referred to as the gripping-beaststyle, is named after the Norwegian locality of Borre on the Oslo Fjord. This style is characterized by representations ofanimals and knot patterns and was later followed by the Jelling style.
