8 Yard Kilt with Black Watch Tartan
The kilt, the Scottish Highlanders' most famous garment, is a knee-length skirt with checked pattern worn exclusively by men. Since the 18th century, the distinctive tartans (patterns) have been associated with specific clans.
Our kilt is an 8 yard kilt and thus swings nicely. One particularly noteworthy quality feature is the pleating at the back, which is perfectly arranged so that the pattern of the tartan is maintained across the pleats. The front is double-layered, just like a wrap-around skirt, and fastened at the waistline with leather straps and buckles. The kilt is not hemmed but has a traditional kilting selvedge.
A shirt, hose (knee-high socks) and matching accessories - kilt pin, sporran (kilt purse) and wide leather belt - will perfectly round off the Highlander look.
