The light cavalry sabre model from 1796 blade shape is actually originally derived from the Indian talwar; and it was one of the most widespread weapons among the Prussians and the British (who in 1815 inflicted a crushing defeat upon Napoleon's army at Waterloo).The sabre was so feared on the battlefield it was still used by German army units due to its effectiveness until the 20th century
The blade of our replica is made of unsharpened spring steel, and comes with a matching steel sheath with carrying rings.
