With their deeply blued blades and rich Malaysian sal wood handles, Cold Steel®'s 1917 Series blades are instantly recognizable! Evoking a spirit of adventure, from the American Frontier to the High Seas, the 1917 series of swords, sabers, cutlasses and knives are perfect for any historical reenactment group from the 1830's onward, Cowboy Action Shooters, Civil War or Naval Battle reenactment, even modern military groups.
The 1917 Frontier Bowie features a wide, sharp blade with a generous clip and fuller. Made from 1085 high carbon steel, it is heat-treated to a hard spring temper and beautifully blued to a lustrous finish. The Frontier Bowie's big S-shaped guard offers excellent hand protection while the slim, flat profile of the modified pistol grip handle resists twisting in your hand and keeps your edge alignment true.
The Frontier Bowie comes complete with a high-quality leather sheath with blued steel throat and chape. Its swiveling leather belt frog is wide enough to accommodate even a thick military belt and fully detachable to allow you to slide the knife into your belt for a more traditional carrying.
