Samura Whetstone Grain Size 2000
Samura sharpening stones are suitable even for very hard blades with a hardness of 58 HRC or more. All grains of this whetstone are completely homogeneous to ensure a uniform and high-quality cut.
When sharpening, you start with a coarse grain and then move on to an increasingly finer grain. It is ideal if the successive grains are each 2 to 3 times finer.
This can be taken as a guide value:
- For coarse work - grinding out embrasures or if the tool is very blunt, a stone with 120 to 400 grit is recommended.
- For normal sharpening work, a stone with grit 700 to 2000 is the right one.
- To remove the fine burr and polish the surfaces, use grit sizes 3000 to 12000.
To prevent the stone from slipping off the work surface during sharpening, it is supplied with a non-slip holder.
