Dansk Mjød’s Vikingernes Mjød is a traditional mead, just as the Vikings drank it. The addition of hops and other spices gives it a spicy, aromatic flavour reminiscent of white port.
Enjoy it as a chilled aperitif, as a dessert wine or heat it up for “gløgg”, a Danish mulled wine.
Dansk Mjød’s honey wines are based on old, traditional recipes with the addition of juices and herbs. Another special feature of many meads is that the fermentation is stopped by adding alcohol. This gives the mead an unusual strength, which is tempered by its residual sweetness, resulting in a liqueur-like smoothness and balance.
