This fully wearable, battle-ready Viking Age spectacle / nasal helmet is hand-forged from 2 mm thick steel. The domed helmet bowl, the strips or bands running around the lower edge, from front to back and from ear to ear (in German so-called Spangen), as well as the spectacle guard (a protective face plate resembling eyeglasses / spectacles) are all connected by steel rivets. The face protection features an extra-long noseguard. The interior is painted red-brown and fitted with a leather suspension liner. The brown, 3 mm thick leather chin strap closes with a brass buckle.
An early medieval spangenhelm that will make your transformation into a proud Norse warrior just perfect! Of course, this battle helmet will also make a great, decorative addition to any helmet collector's treasure chamber.
