The original of this Viking - brooch was found in Birka/Sweden and dates from about the end of the 9th - beginning of the 10th century. Fibulas with the same arms were used e.g. as a closure for light capes or as a mount for a jewellery pendant on the middle of the chest. The Equal Arm Fibula is a nice alternative to the disc fibula usually used by Vikings.
