A Viking ornamental bead from bronze with Mjölnir motif.
Mjölnir is also a symbolic representation of Thor. According to Norse mythology, the so-called Uru hammer was forged out ofUru ore by the dwarves Sindri and Brokkr. When thrown, it has the unique property of never missing its target and will always return to the thrower's hand. This makes it amighty weapon which can only be wielded by Thor himself. It symbolizes strength and vigour, but might have also stood for fertility and the sanctification of marriage.
This delicate piece of jewellery is not only designed to adorn beards and hair but is also very well suited as pendant for necklacesand bracelets. The inner diameter for this Viking bead is 0.6 cm.
