Type XVIII Single Hand Knights Sword, Medieval Sword by Kingston Arms

This sword features the classic diamond cross section of Oakeshott's Type XVIII specification, typical of the short sword used by knights and men at arms of the 15th Century. The stiff blade and acute point would be used to find the small chinks, exposed gaps and joints in plate armour. This took a sword capable of quick movements and accurate point control, far from the broader swords typically associated with the medieval knight. Not just a thrusting sword though the Type XVIII has a slow tapering curve to the point, also making cutting against unarmored targets quite effective.

The blade is hand forged mono-tempered 9260 spring steel, flat ground with a beautiful satin finish. The fittings are high quality stainless steel exactly matching Gus's design. The grip is a solid wooden core, cord-wrapped for strength with a textured leather over-wrap. The scabbard is made of solid wood, with a stainless steel chape and a stitched leather wrap.
