Samura Whetstone Grain Size 1000
With this high-quality Samura whetstone you can do the pre-sharpening for fine blades and the fine grinding for coarser tools.
When sharpening, you start with a coarse grain and then move on to an increasingly finer grain. It is ideal if the successive grits are each 2 to 3 times finer.
As a guide value can be considered:
- for coarse work - grinding out embrasures or if the tool is very blunt - a stone with grain size 120 to 400 is recommended.
- for normal sharpening work, a stone with a grain size of 700 to 2000 is the right one.
- to remove the fine burr and polish the surfaces, use grit sizes 3000 to 12000.
To prevent the stone from slipping off the work surface during sharpening, it is supplied with a non-slip holder.
