Roman Cavalry Spatha with belt

The Spatha (Which is Latin for "broad blade") is a double-edged, one-handed sword with a straight blade. This sword shape existed around the 1st century BC. until the end of the early Middle Ages. The Romans used the Spatha until the fall of the Roman Empire.

Over the centuries it appeared in various forms, in particular Germanic ring swords up to the so-called "Viking swords", which makes the spatha a cross between Celtic and Roman weapon designs.

The blade of this faithful replica is made of EN45 spring steel and is not sharpened. The handle is crafted of wood and bone; while the sword sheath is made of leather-wrapped wood with brass fittings and comes with a matching leather bandolier.
