Roman Pugio Frog, Belt Fitting, Mainz Pattern, Brass, Set of 2

This Roman dagger frog (suspension mount) is based on finds from the Mainz area, Germany. Dated to the 1st century A.D., the original artefacts belonged to a Roman legionary's cingulum or balteus.

This reproduction of a Roman belt fitting is cast from 2 mm thick brass and has an antiqued finish. As the hinged chape has no holes, mounting it to a belt will require drilling.

Such brass frogs are perfectly suited for your own DIY Roman belt project or as replacement/spare parts. Mounting hardware is not included in delivery.

An ideal accessory for Roman re-enactment.
