Lynn C. Thompson's love of Filipino Martial Arts encouraged this collaboration with Mike Wallace on the Luzon folder. The Luzons were inspired by several balisongs in Lynn's collection, but function as a flipper. The blades are comprised of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel expertly hardened to 57-58 Rockwell and feature sharp, strong points with just enough belly to make them equally useful for cutting and slashing. You'll be dreaming of the Philippines once you experience the Luzon's bamboo-inspired handles, featuring concave segments that offer countless comfortable grip options. Made of glass-filled nylon (GFN), the handles are impervious to the elements and are unlike any handle Cold Steel® has ever made before.
Handsome, budget friendly and a breeze to flip open, the Luzons are a formidable choice. Offering incomparable levels of safety, they're equipped with a sturdy leaf-spring lock and a (patent-pending) secondary safety mechanism that, when engaged, is extremely resistant to shock and impact. Your fingers will be safe even under the worst conditions.

8Cr13MoV Stainless Steel
Possessing very similar properties to AUS 8A, 8Cr13MoV is a reliable steel for working knives. This high carbon stainless steel has proven itself to be tough and corrosion-resistant in Cold Steel®'s own tests. Like AUS 8A, it boasts good edge holding and is easy to re-sharpen.

Eindrucksvolles Messer, kleine Mängel
Ich mag das Aussehen und die Funktionalität dieses Messers sehr. Zwei Dinge gefallen mir jedoch nicht: der Gürtelclip und die Grifffläche. Das Design des Clips ist in Ordnung, aber es ist etwas schwierig, das Messer aus der Tasche zu ziehen, vor allem, wenn man Handschuhe trägt. Außerdem ist die Grifffläche etwas zu glatt, was ich bei schwitzigen Händen nicht empfehlen würde. Aber 10 Minuten mit einem Stippling-Kit würden das Problem lösen.

Die Klinge und Spitze sind ab Werk perfekt geschärft, keine Sorge, dass sie sich von selbst öffnet, sehr robust.

Ich wollte das größere Modell, aber in Kalifornien war es nicht verfügbar. Also habe ich das kürzere Modell genommen und bin sehr zufrieden damit. Es liegt gut in der Hand und die Klinge ist schön scharf. Das Messer ist nicht schwer und ist eines meiner Favoriten geworden, wenn ich ein Messer mitführe.

Gekauft für den täglichen Gebrauch, es ist einfach zu handhaben. Ich hätte mir nur gewünscht, dass die Klinge etwas kürzer wäre, da sie recht breit ist.
