This wearable reconstruction of a late medieval plate armour for the shoulders is made from 1.2 mm steel and blackened on the inside for better corrosion resistance. The pauldrons (sometimes spelled pouldrons or powldrons) show the typical multi-layered look of the Gothic plate armours of the late Middle Ages (15th/16th c.). The spaulders consist of 11 segments – a large main plate for the shoulder, three top sliding plates or lames, and seven bottom lames, all connected by sturdy rivets. Each pauldron is equipped with an adjustable, sturdy leather strap with a brass buckle, for a comfortable, custom fit at upper arm level. The braided cords at the top and bottom edge at the spaulder allow for a proper attachment to other plate armour parts, like a gorget, a bevor, a breastplate, or a gambeson.

This shoulder armour is ideal for late medieval and Renaissance settings.
