This mead was handcrafted by the beer brewers of the Wacken Brewery.

Even in the 19th century, mead was still thought to have a health-promoting effect*. Sebastian Kneipp said:
"Mead does a lot of good, it promotes good appetite, digestion, cleanses and strengthens the stomach and gets rid of unhealthy substances. The body is freed from what is detrimental to it. Its effect is very favourable on the blood, all bodily fluids, the kidneys and bladder, because it cleanses everywhere, has a draining effect and dissolves. Mead is a tonic for all older people. Even the Germanic tribes enjoyed extraordinary health and lived to a ripe old age. They owed their health and old age to their mead in particular."
