Kukri Plus Machete with Sheath
There is possibly no single-edged blade that can out-chop or out-cut a good Kukri. It is true that some of the best Kukris, like Cold Steel's Gurkha model, can be somewhat expensive, and while that "thoroughbred" performs extraordinarily well for the money that it costs, it sometimes seems that what’s required is a good, inexpensive, "workhorse" model.
Cold Steel's Kukri Machetes are those workhorses, ready to plow through the toughest chores life can dish out. They feature the distinctive weight-forward balance of the "top-of-the-line" models and always present their edge on an angle so they are guaranteed to "bite" deep with every stroke. They are a solid value, ready for long, hard work.
The Kukri Plus Machete features some of the finest innovations in Kukri design. Its wide, curved blade will cut and shear amazingly well, making huge cuts that would be the envy of many small swords, while its stout spine and durable tip make it a very functional and handy bushcraft tool. Its integral steel guard keeps your hand free from harm when using the knife for particularly hard cutting chores. Its full tang is completely encapsulated in a comfortable and durable polypropylene handle that has been ergonomically designed for comfort and safety, allowing you to keep a secure grip on the Machete even in the most inclement conditions. Featuring a rust-resistant baked-on matte black coating, the fully sharpened 1055 carbon steel blade is safely and securely held in a sturdy Cor-Ex™ sheath.

Ich besitze mehrere Macheten, darunter einige von Cold Steel. Diese und meine aus den 1960er Jahren vererbte Ontario Militärmachete sind mit Abstand meine Favoriten. Die anderen benutze ich kaum noch. Es gibt einfach etwas an dieser hier, das sich genau richtig anfühlt. Die Royal ist mir etwas zu lang, und ich mag die integrierte Handschutzvorrichtung an der neuen Kukri Plus. Sie ist etwas dicker als meine leichten Modelle, aber nicht so massig wie mein authentisches nepalesisches Kukri. Sie ist im Einsatz, perfekt geeignet hier in Florida.
Einstiegs-Kukri
Gutes Einstiegs-Kukri, soweit ich das beurteilen kann. Ich habe es gekauft, um zu sehen, ob mir der Klingenstil gefällt. Angemessener Preis, aber man bekommt, wofür man bezahlt. Sieht ziemlich einfach gemacht aus, aber als einfaches Machetenwerkzeug funktioniert es sicher. Das wäre nützlich gewesen, als ich in Louisiana lebte und Wege freimachen wollte. Die Scheide funktioniert, aber man kann das Ding nicht schnell ziehen oder verstauen.
