I-beam Longsword Trainer, Training sword from Kingston Arms

Angus Trim developed this type of HEMA training sword (he called the profile design "I-Beam") some time ago to solve two problems: tapered blades with thin edges that were quickly damaged and thick blades that feeled like crowbars. The solid central fuller allows more metal on the edge while keeping the sword alive in the hand.

This sword is not sharpened and has a rounded tip.

Main Features:
- Hand forged, 3.25mm thick 9260 spring steel blade.
- Designed by Angus Trim
- Wooden scabbard wrapped in leather

Kurzer Griff ansonsten gut

Gutes Trainingsschwert, hat bisher auch Vollkontakt ohne große Abnutzung überstanden. Balance etwas frontlastig, dadurch allerdings für einige Techniken besser geeignet als Fechtfedern, aber auch etwas anstrengender zu führen. Knauf ist mit einer Schraubkonstruktion befestigt, was praktisch ist, da es einerseits bisher gut hält, aber bei Lockerung einfach nachgezogen werden kann. Größtes Manko ist der etwas kurze Griff, welcher das Führen mit Sparringhandschuhen etwas schwieriger gestaltet.
