This cup made from clay with a holding capacity of 0.5 l was thrown on the potter's wheel in the same way as it was done in former times. With the aid of archeological institutes, historic preservation agencies and museums, it was possible to reconstruct this ancient beaker. It is made from ochre clay which was fired at 1200°C and is thus extremely sturdy.
For sanitary reasons, it was glazed inside and over the edge. The glaze is not only food safe but also free from lead compounds and toxic substitutes. The cup is dishwasher safe.
Hand-made in Germany, guaranteed without industrial assistance, for this would be neither historical nor authentic!
Please note that the cup is not calibrated and is thus exclusively intended for private use.
