Great Helmet (Pembridge Style) 1370 AD

battle-ready

This replica follows the helmet of Sir Richard Pembridge original, displayed in the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh. The "Great Helmet" was often worn over a smaller, lighter helmet (for example secret helmet).

These helmets were common throughout Europe in the middle ages, and numerous contemporary images, miniatures and originals found in Germany, Flanders, England, Italy, Swizerland, Austria, etc. prove the popularity of this helmet type. They were used during the famous battles of Crecy (1346) and Poitiers (1356).

The helmet comes with a comfortable, adjustable leather liner and chin-strap with buckle.

Details:
- Material: 2 mm steel, leather
- Size : suitable for head circumference up to 63 cm
- long distance (back to front): approx. 23 cm
- short distance (ear to ear): approx. 19.5 cm
- Includes comfortable leather liner and chin-strap with buckle
- Finish: polished and oiled
- Weight: approx. 3.0 kg

We now offer this helmet also in a thinner version (approx. 1.2 mm): code 17163829189.This is perfect for LARP or non-fighting re-enactors.
