German Sallet, circa 1490, 1.6 mm steel
-battle-ready-This very authentic reconstruction of the German Sallet dated around 1490 is driven from 1.6 mm (approx. 16 gauge) thick steel sheet. The visor is fixed with beautiful, hand-forged rivets. It is locked by a pin mounted in the lowest stage. The helmet has a comfortable leather liner and a solid chinstrap with buckle.
The late medieval helmet type Sallet was usually worn with a matching bevor or gorget.

Der Helm ist wirklich klasse! Allerdings ist er im hinteren Bereich ziemlich schwer, wenn das Visier oben ist, wodurch er nach hinten rutscht. Es ist schade, dass man das Visier oben nicht fixieren kann. Ansonsten ist er einwandfrei.
