Most of the lightweight knives of Cold Steel's new Nightshade™ series are detailed reproductions of existing Cold Steel favorites, while some are brand new designs.
Made from Griv-Ex™, the latest in fiberglass-reinforced plastic, and stronger than even the super tough Zy-Ex™ used by Cold Steel in earlier models, they are UV- and heat-stabilized, which make them impervious to the elements.
One of the most unique features of these knives is their handles: They are made from deeply checkered Kray-Ex™ that has been molded directly to the blade tangs. The use of Kray-Ex™ in knife handles is a Cold Steel innovation that dates back to the early 1980's. It offers a superior, slightly tacky gripping surface that remains unaffected by heat, cold, or moisture. It never rusts, warps, cracks or splits, even in the most extreme environments.

Ich habe bereits erwähnt, wie sehr mir die Funktionsweise dieser Waffen gefällt. Sie sind überraschend robust. Zwei Anmerkungen zum Tanto in dieser Serie: Erstens, entfernt den Metallring! Cold Steel, vertraut mir da! Wenn ihr unbedingt einen beilegen müsst, packt ihn neben die Waffe mit einem Hinweis: "Und mit dieser Waffe bekommen Sie sogar einen kostenlosen, billigen Schlüsselanhänger". Soll man seine Schlüssel daran befestigen? Oder die Waffe daran hängen und im Ernstfall erst den Anhänger auseinanderfummeln? Dies ist ein ernstes Problem, Cold Steel. Wenn ich euch ins The French Laundry, eines der besten Restaurants der Welt, mitnehme und dort Kobe-Rindfleisch auf Trüffeln mit Pommes serviert würde, würdet ihr auch komisch schauen, oder?! Diese Waffe ist kein seltenes japanisches Schwert, aber es sieht aus wie ein billiges Spielzeug, wenn ihr den Ring dranlasst. Der Grivory Kraton Tanto ist ein schönes Stück Arbeit, es hat ein gutes Gewicht, einen recht scharfen Rand und eine tödliche Spitze. Das Design ist gut mit einer schönen Basis, die auch als Schlagfläche dienen kann. Als sekundäre Waffe, die man verstecken oder in nassen Umgebungen verwenden kann, ist es beeindruckend. Gute Arbeit, entfernt das Spielzeug!

Certaines opinions peuvent dire que c'est du plastique de manière négative, mais même s'il est fait de plastique, C'EST UNE ARME RÉELLE qui n'est simplement pas en métal. Elle est résistante aux éléments et pour une fraction du coût, vous pouvez avoir une arme qui pourrait bien sauver votre vie.
