The Aikuchi Short Sword
One of the finest hand-forged swords from BattleBlades
The impressive Gokudo Aikuchi is a compact, one-handed shirasaya short sword that combines the clean aesthetics of Japanese blade art with absolute performance.
From first sketch to forging, creating this weapon was a time-consuming task. BattleBlades aimed to forge a perfectly balanced, sharp sword with high cutting power and flawless handling. The sori (blade curvature), the wide motohaba and the extensive kissaki were carefully planned and implemented in this process.
Polished and sharp Aikuchi sword
Entirely hand-forged from T10 steel, a strong and proven material, the nagasa has been hazuya-polished, sharpened, and is further enhanced by an attractive shinogi line, an extra-long kissaki and a clay-tempered Hamon. The result is one of the finest samurai swords BattleBlades has ever forged.
The tsuka is made of hardwood, wrapped with all black Samegawa ray skin, and embellished on both sides with custom-made silver menukis. A custom-made and carefully fitted habaki made of copper provides an impressive appearance.
The custom-made hardwood saya features uniquely shaped kojiri, kurikata and koikuchi made of genuine buffalo horn. Underneath the premium silk sageo, the saya is covered with Samegawa a ray skin. To give it a particularly stylish look, it has been lacquered in all black.
The Gokudo Aikuchi samurai sword is a masterpiece that will not let you down. It comes with an embroidered BattleBlades Inc. silk sword bag and a serial-numbered certificate of authenticity.
