The Swedish Forest Knife No. 8 is inspired by the popular No. 10 SFK model and the traditional Scandinavian “brukskniv” utility knifes. The No. 8 SFK is a precise and powerful outdoor knife, and suitable for hunting and bushcraft as well as for general use in the great outdoors.
The approx. 8 cm long and 3 mm thick blade is just the right size for close work like whittling and woodcarving and food prep. The blade is made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel, a Swedish knife steel that has been heat treated and hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 59-60 HRC. This knife steel offers a unique combination of excellent edge performance, high hardness, and good corrosion resistance as well as ease of sharpening. In addition, the Scandi grind and full-tang construction make the razor-sharp blade extremely robust and stable. The ergonomic green micarta handle provides a secure and comfortable grip.
Its lightweight design makes it an excellent belt knife, or even a back-up blade when paired with a larger Survival knife or a specific hunting or fishing knife.
The knife is supplied with a sturdy sheath made of brown vegetable tanned leather with the Casström Leaf emblem on the front.
