A haubergeon is a mid-sleeve chain maille shirt that reaches to the thighs. The word Haubergeon means 'little Hauberk'. In Europe this mail armour was already used by Romans and Celts but continued up through the 14th century, when plate armour began to replace it.
The BTW chain maille type: This particular mesh is composed of butted rings made of high-quality spring steel. Considering its excellent value at a fair price, it is perfectly suitable for unexperienced re-enactors who set store on good protection and solid quality. The weave is 4 in 1. This type is called BTW (Butted Tensile Wire).
Although the natural finish allows rust to develop, it also gives the weave a genuine appearance.
Our BTW-Haubergeons are available in four sizes (M, L, XL and XXL)
All measurements are taken fully stretched.

Habe mich nach längerer zeit fü dieses kettenhemd entschieden und bin absolut zufrieden.Es passt super über meinen gabeson.
Passt sich gut an
Ich bin froh, dass sich das Kettenhemd dank seines Gewichts von 11,5 kg gut an meinen Körper anpasst, obwohl mir eigentlich ein oder zwei cm gefehlt haben. Lediglich der Bizeps braucht noch etwas Aufmerksamkeit. Ein Nachteil dieses gut geölten Kettenhemds aus großen schwärzlich-grauen Ringen ist, dass man es nur mit alter Kleidung tragen kann. Danach sollte man sich definitiv mit Handwaschpaste waschen. Es ist möglich, dass sich das mit der Zeit harmonisiert. Das Kettenhemd wurde in einer Plastikverpackung geliefert, die von einem Schuhkarton passender Größe umgeben war.
