Pirate Flag of Calico Jack
The classic pirate flag is traditionally known as Jolly Roger. It is said that this name might derive from the euphemism joli rouge (= pretty red), in reference to the blood-red flag flown by many pirates in the early days of piracy. The supposedly first pirate captain to have flown a flag with white skull on black background was Calico Jack Rackham, who added two crossed sabres to the design. The Calico Jack pirate flag can be thus considered as the origin of all Jolly Rogers known today.
This version follows the original design and is made from sturdy, weather-proof 100% polyester fabric. It is approx. 156 cm wide and 90 cm high, and equipped with two metal grommets for proper fastening.
