Late Chalcidian Helmet, brass
The Chalcidian style of helmet is evidently developed from Corinthian
helmets, taking its name from the area of Chalkidiki in the greek part of
Macedonia.
There are finds both with and without hinged cheek guards.
It seems that this helm-type was popular throughout the Hellenistic period, in
Greece and in Magna Graecia , on the Southern Italic peninsula.
The current replica in brass is an excellent likeness of bronze examples from
the 4th century BC.
Delivery includes a padded cotton cap for wear underneath the helmet.
Suitable for head circumference up to 62 cm.
